Artists and craftsmen of yesteryear will exhibit their talents along the main street of Lagoon's Pioneer Village this week in the spirit of the Old West.

To show what life was like in the 1880s, the Pioneer Village Jubilee will continue daily through Monday under the sponsorship of the Deseret News, KSL Radio and KUTV.Demonstrations will include bead work, hide tanning, boot making, weaving, spinning, basket making, braiding, sand sculpture, paper cutting, and many other crafts.

The Deseret News will present non-stop entertainment on the Village Green stage from noon to 9 p.m. daily, and coupons published in the newspaper will offer $2 off on a regular adult all-day pass or entry into the park for only $3 plus a coupon.

Adding to the festivities will be "oldtimers" strolling through the village in authentic costumes of the day.

And to take visitors back to yesteryear, old-time watermelon contests will be included each day for participants to try for valuable prizes.

A highlight of the activities will be daily pig racing on the village track at the end of Main Street at 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30 p.m. daily along with a 1:30 p.m. race on Saturday.
