A 17-year-old Palestinian suffered a fractured skull and died after a brick from an Israeli military observation post landed on his head, sparking demonstrations and clashes in the occupied West Bank town of Beit Sahur.

The army clamped a curfew on Beit Sahur Monday, less than 36 hours after it had lifted a 10-day curfew imposed on the predominantly Christian Arab community. By late evening, residents said the town was quiet. In scattered violence in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, soldiers shot and wounded at least nine Palestinians, and another Arab died of a gunshot wound from earlier violence, Palestinian and hospital sources said.
