The Salt Lake Trappers' four-game win streak came to an abrupt halt Sunday night, largely due to the pitching of Brewers' right-hander Curt Krippner.
Krippner went the distance, allowing seven hits to give the Brews a 6-0 win. Salt Lake dropped into a tie for first place in the Pioneer League South with a 17-10 record. Butte, a 15-9 winner over Billings, moved into a tie for first with the Trappers.Krippner struck out 12 Trappers and allowed just one extra-base hit. The performance was in stark contrast to Saturday's outing, in which the Trappers scored 11 runs.
Salt Lake plays at Helena Monday and Tuesday nights before returning to Derks Field on Wednesday.
