Paul Woodrow Nielson 1916 ~ 2007 Woodrow Nielson of Coalville, Utah, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed from this life on January 24, 2007 from causes incident to age. He was 90 years old. Born March 13, 1916 in Ephraim, Utah to Andrew Christian Nielson, Jr. and Teckla Pauline Christensen Nielson. Married Mary Leah Boyer July 8, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. Leah preceded Woodrow in death and they are now reunited to continue their eternity together. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers; they are having a glorious reunion, as he loved his family dearly. Woodrow is survived by his four children: Sharlene (Brent) Hansen of West Valley City, Utah; Paul (Ina) Nielson of Roosevelt, Utah; Becky (Bob) Zent of Shoshoni, Wyoming; and Sue Nielson of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Woodrow has 16 grandchildren, the youngest grandson Eli Zent is currently serving in the Brazil, Brasilia LDS Mission. He also has 14 great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Woodrow was very active in the LDS church. As a young man he served a mission to Denmark, home of his ancestors, and a second mission with his eternal companion to the Pima and Popago Indian Reservation in Arizona. Both Woodrow and Leah served in many church callings during their lives. They especially enjoyed temple service. Woodrow spent most of his working career as a soils scientist for the US Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. His last 20 years of government service was in Roosevelt, Utah. After retiring, Woodrow, Leah and their youngest daughter moved to Coalville, Utah where they lived for 28 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and always had a garden. He tried to keep himself involved in the communities he lived in; was a member of the Roosevelt Kawanis Club, and active with the Coalville Senior Citizens Group. He was a caring and kind person, and will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Coalville Stake Chapel.
