A Los Angeles man convicted on a charge of transporting a minor across state lines for prostitution was sentenced Friday to 21/2 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge David K. Winder recommended that Casey Hagood spend the time in the prison work camp at Boron, Calif. He did not give credit for time already spent in jail, about six months.Hagood, 23, was indicted in November 1987 on a charge he met a teenage girl in Salt Lake City the previous March, and persuaded her to travel with him to Los Angeles, where he had her work as a prostitute.

He was arrested after the girl called her parents.
