U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has spent $924,876 through his campaign committee so far this year and has $1.1 million in cash on-hand, according to records submitted Friday to the Federal Elections Commission.
Friday was the deadline for congressional candidates to submit detailed financial reports to the commission. However, only those from incumbents Hatch, Reps. Howard Nielson and Jim Hansen, both R-Utah, and Wayne Owens, D-Utah, were available. Reports from those challenging the incumbents may have been sent through the mail.Craig Oliver, a Democrat running against Nielson in the 3rd Congressional District, did not file a report because he has raised only $4,215, less than the $5,000 minimum required for filing a report.
Hansen reported raising $119,813 while Owens raised $116,557 and Nielson raised $53,921.
