An Aug. 2 pretrial conference has been scheduled for Bonneville Raceway track announcer Brandon Gee, who pleaded not guilty in 3rd Circuit Court Friday to charges of interfering with a police officer and failure to aid a police officer, both Class B misdemeanors.

Gee is accused of defying police orders to announce cancellation of the races during the May 23 riot at the raceway.Police believe the riot began when officers broke up a fight among several race spectators, including Christopher Paul Phillips, 24, who has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of assaulting a police officer and misdemeanor riot and intoxication charges.

A bench warrant for Phillips' arrest was issued after he failed to appear at a July 5 arraignment. A new arraignment has been set for July 18 at 9 a.m.
