Eight businesspeople were elected to the Board of Governors of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Tuesday to serve three-year terms beginning July 1.
Nick Rose, board chairman, said the eight people were nominated by a committee and agreed to serve and replace eight people whose terms are expiring. About one-third of the 25-member board is replaced annually.The new people are Carol Browning, a self-employed chartered life insurance underwriter; Wayne Chamberlain, president and chairman of the board of Murdock Travel; Sidney J. Green, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of TerraTek; and Robert W. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Northwest Pipeline Corp.
Others are Mark Miller, president of Mark Miller Pontiac-Subaru; John Pace, a partner in Babock Pace and Associates, an architectural firm; James C. Stewart, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Continental Bank; and James F. Welch, senior vice president of American Express Travelers Cheque Operations Center.
Fred S. Ball, chamber president and general manager, said a banquet will be arranged to honor the outgoing board members and welcome the incoming members and their partners.
