JACKSON WORKS TOUR MAGIC

ROCK STAR MICHAEL JACKSON LAUNCHED HIS FIRST BRITISH TOUR WITH A SPECTACULAR TWO-HOUR CONCERT DURING WHICH HE RODE OVER THE HEADS OF 72,000 SCREAMING FANS IN A CRADLE SUSPENDED FROM A CRANE.

"SHALL I COME DOWN THERE?" HE TEASED AS HE DANGLED WITHIN INCHES OF THEIR OUTSTRETCHED ARMS AT LONDON'S WEMBLEY STADIUM.

BUT HE DIDN'T, CONFINING INSTEAD TO BLOWING KISSES AT THE FANS AND TELLING THEM, "I LOVE YOU."

DURING THE PERFORMANCE, THE 29-YEAR-OLD STAR REPEATEDLY DISAPPEARED IN PUFFS OF SMOKE AND BEHIND SILVER CURTAINS, ONLY TO REAPPEAR SECONDS LATER HUNDREDS OF FEET AWAY.

THE CONCERT WAS THE FIRST OF 13 JACKSON IS SCHEDULED TO GIVE IN BRITAIN AND IRELAND.
