Mando Verdugo paced the Salt Lake Trappers to a 4-1 Pioneer League win over Medicine Hat Wednesday night.

Verdugo homered and drove in three runs to lead the Trappers to their fifth win in their last six contests. The Trappers are 14-9 overall. Medicine Hat fell to 2-21.Willie Amos upped his record to 4-0, allowing just one hit in six innings.

The Trappers jumped off to a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Verdugo followed Randy Moore's single with a home run. In the fourth, Verdugo's two-out single drove in Martin Peralta to give the Trappers a 3-0 lead. The Salt Lake team got its final run in the seventh when Verdugo singled, went to second courtesy of a wild pitch and scored on a single by Tommy Boyce.

The Trappers are at Medicine Hat Thursday and Friday, then travel to Helena.
