The Utah Department of Transportation has opened bids on two separate maintenance projects to improve the pavement on sections of I-15 in southern Utah.
One project involves rotomilling five miles of I-15 from Wildcat to Pine Creek (south of Cove Fort) in Beaver County. Vernon Paving of Anaheim, Calif., had the apparent low bid.The second project involves placing a plant mix seal coat on 12.4 miles of I-15 from Summit to Paragonah in Iron County.
Staker Paving of Salt Lake City was the apparent low bid, but officials will review the project to determine whether or not to accept the bid.
Work on both projects should begin in the near future. Contracts stipulate work must be completed by Sept. 1 and Sept. 15, respectively. Traffic will be restricted to one lane where work is being done.
