The Utah Federation for Drug-Free Youth received $15,000 Thursday from the Salt Lake County Commission.

It was presented by Commissioners Mike Stewart, Bart Barker and David Watson during a recognition luncheon in the Governor's Residence. The money will be used to defray costs of the federation's annual convention, which was held earlier this year in the Salt Palace and Symphony Hall.

More than 8,000 youths, parents and representatives of government and private agencies attended this year's conference. Federation President Eileen Marchand and other officers are already making plans for the 1989 "Reach for a Natural-High Life-Skill" conference.
