Federal criminal investigators are looking into allegations of contract fraud at the Army's main missile headquarters, including alleged overcharges, favoritism and phony bills, according to the congressional General Accounting Office.

The probe, revealed on Wednesday, involves dealings between the military headquarters and Morrison Knudsen Corp. of Boise. But Morrison Knudsen officials had no immediate comment. In one instance, a 45-minute job was inflated to show 23 hours of work, and on another occasion, two workers painted stripes in a parking lot while eight others simply watched, the General Accounting Office said.
