Salt Lake City golfer Martin Romney is representing Utah at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship that began Monday in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Romney, 17, is the youngest golfer in the 141-player field. The only other Utah player to qualify is Rick McGarry.

Romney, a 1988 graduate of Rowland Hall, has received a scholarship to play for the University of Utah next season. He was Utah's junior player of the year in 1987 and finished third at the 1987 Junior Americas Cup Tournament.
