The discovery of significant gold deposits in eastern Oregon has been announced by officials of Earth Search Sciences Inc., a Salt Lake-based exploration company.

Larry Vance, chief executive officer, and William P. Loughlin, chief geologist and vice president for geological exploration, said surface assays show a gold concentration ranging from .02 ounce per ton to .029 ounce per ton.The gold deposit was identified by an airborne thematic mapper imagery system and a major geochemical survey will be started immediately to delineate trenching and drilling targets to be followed by a drilling program, they said.
