LaRue Tucker Johnson 1917 ~ 2006 EPHRAIM: LaRue Tucker Johnson completed her tour on earth January 2, 2006. Born in Fairview, Utah on May 15, 1917 to Myron F. Tucker and Lucy Brady Tucker. She was a graduate of North Sanpete High School, Salt Lake General School of Nursing and the University of Utah Division of Psychology. At graduation time she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. In January 1943 she joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and served in the U.S., New Caledonia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, on the U.S. East Coast and in Panama until Dec. 1945. After the service, she worked in many capacities in nursing, completing a 42 year nursing career. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in all the auxiliaries. She married Roland Roger Johnson of Ephraim, Utah in 1944. They moved to Ephraim in 1946. They celebrated 61 years of marriage December 30, 2005. She is survived by her husband Roger of Ephraim; three children, Jeanie (Bob) Morris of South Jordan; John (Shireen) Johnson of West Jordan; Joy (Scott) Bushnell of Salt Lake City; brothers, Clair (Lucille) Tucker and Robert (Bertha) Tucker, sister, Cherril (LaRell) Sparks, six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. LaRue was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank Tucker. The family would like to thank Gunnison Valley Home Health, IHC Hospice, Golden Skyline Assisted Living and Garden Terrace Nursing Facility for the wonderful attention and care they have given our wife and mother. Funeral services will be held Friday January 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim LDS Stake Center (400 E. Center). Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Ephraim Stake Center. Interment in the Ephraim City Cemetery under the direction of Rasmussen Mortuary.
