Park City Chamber of Commerce President Jess Reid has been appointed to the Utah Travel Council Board of Commissioners by Gov. Norm Bangerter.

Reid has played key roles in keeping the U.S. Ski Team in Utah and getting the U.S. Ski Association to move here from Colorado. He is actively involved in developing the Interconnect Adventure Tour and is working with the Summit County Commission to build an Olympic ski jump in the county."I have always been thrilled with Utah," Reid said. "It's such a varied state and our recreational amenities are just incredible. I am excited about the appointment and I am looking forward to serving the state."

Reid's term will expire in 1991. His term as president of the Park City Chamber of Commerce/Convention and Visitor's Bureau expires later this month.

Reid, a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., owns his own real estate company in Park City.
