Utahns Against Hunger on Saturday will sell an estimated 500 flats of flower and vegetable plants donated from garden-supply centers, spokesman Steven Johnson said.

Plants offered at the sale to benefit the non-profit charity group include marigolds, geraniums, dahlias and impatiens, tomatoes, green peppers and squash, Johnson said. The plants are at various maturity levels but considered in prime condition for planting, he said.

Johnson said the flats, which normally retail for about $10, will be sold for $3 each at Utahns Against Hunger's office at 21 G St.
