Men and women in blue were honored by their families and Utah's brass Saturday during the annual Air National Guard Appreciation Day at Air National Guard Headquarters, 765 N. 22nd West. The event, attended by thousands, was marked by the thunder of KC-135s flying overhead, helicopter maneuvers, firefighting demonstrations and patriotic music and speeches. "I am proud of our military and to be a citizen of this country and this great state," Gov. Norm Bangerter, commander and chief of the Utah National Guard, told his troops. "We have the greatest blessing of freedom any nation has had in the history of time."
