Don't forget that there will also be a convention of the new Utah United Party this Saturday.

The idea is to have a candidate ready to run against both Dem and Reps when the time comes.

This third party will give voters another option. One that both the Democratic and Republican Parties fear in the worst way. It just might actually break their strangle holds on Utah's politics.

If you want to REALLY drain the Washington swamp, you need to start by cleaning out Congress.

The Utah United Party is for all those Disgusted Democrats and Repulsed Republicans who can no longer support the nonsense of those two parties.

    It's time for CHANGE.

    Let's Make America Sane Again.

    Hmmm.

He quits to spend more time with his family and then wants to move to New York and work in the media?

Doesn't sound like that's putting family first.

I am not sure what the 3 Dems are thinking other than "making a statement" or "building a foundation". No Dem will win in this race this time around. Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, et company are hanging around your neck like a millstone.

Lia said: "EVERYONE can expect loyalty from libs" ....Does Chaffetz have the loyalty of the first four commenters here? What does that represent about "lib" honesty and loyalty? Jason Chaffetz worked tirelessly and represented Utah well during his short run. He earned the respect of of the DC crowd on both sides of the isle.

There were many significant reasons for his withdrawal. Rather than commenting from uneducated emotion, it is good to research the facts. He has a wife and young family. Put yourself in his shoes. 09 Feb, Brighton HS:

"Police warned him not to bring his family. In secret Facebook groups' agitation had been growing for weeks. More than 1,000 protesters stood outside: bearded granolas in Patagonia fleece with spray-painted signs, lefties who’d driven up from California and Arizona. A few protesters were masked and dressed in black. They worried Chaffetz most. They carried guns and, he would later learn, were prowling the parking lot trying to find his car". HS.

I liked him but this stunt at a critical time is too much. Suck it up and gut it out for another year. What happened to integrity ? I expect that from libs.

Did Jason Chaffetz really said he was quitting because he was tired of being away from his family and ready to move to the private sector?

Didn't he know these things before running again for the same office a year ago??

Now he's wasting a whole lot of people's time and money. Very irresponsible.

Sorry I ever voted for him.
