    Shaun,
I watched the show regularly, and loved it.
One of the few decent shows on TV. No wonder I don't watch too much TV.
    Sad to see it go.

It's a shrewd move on ABC's part to have chosen Once Upon A Time to replace Last Man Standing. This season, on Sunday, OUAT had a 20% lower 18-49 demographic than LMS and it’s viewership in that demo dropped over 31% from the previous season. OUAT had a total viewership of 3.1 million people compared to LMS’s 6.4 million viewers.

But maybe ABC can reverse OUAT’s diving viewership and knock it out of the park on Friday’s, it’s got a solid well loved cast right? Well no…at least not anymore. SIX of it’s main characters are leaving the show, among them original stars Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan) Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Rebecca Mader (Zelena), Jared Gilmore (Henry) and Emilie de Ravin (Belle). The series story arc really ended when the good guys won the War during the 2016/17 season and the smart cast members have left before the show collapsed.

So now ABC plans to move the gutted OUAT, that did not surpass LMS in any metric when it had its full cast this year, to replace LMS, which has ABC's the third highest viewership, higher 18-49 demographics , and three million more viewers.

Sounds like a solid business plan ABC. Great "tough decision."

The show did trick a lot of people into believing Tim Allen espouses conservative values, soooooo pretty impressive writing.

I wonder how many people complaining about the cancelling of this show actually watched it.

Capitalism is to blame for this, not Hollywood.

If the show was likely to make more money for the network you can bet it would be renewed. Hollywood's first loyalty is to it's bottom line.

Of course I prefer Capitalism to Socialism, but don't blame Hollywood for this one.

    @ hahaha

those sound like very impressive numbers and a bit made up. the facts are 58 shows an counting have been canceled for next session, last man standings rating barely got it renewed last year and that it is an expensive series that ABC has no ownership stake in because it is produced by 20th century fox and you still would be better off with the petition to the network and maybe one to Tim Allen urging him to take a cut in his salary that makes up a large portion of the cost then continuing with the conspiracy theories on here.

" no evidance and no explanation why three other none conservative shows were also canceled at the same time but it's definitely a libreal conspericy/ politically motivated that's for sure."

Here is the explanation: Last Man Standing audience = 10 million (or whatever the number is) viewers per episode. Other 3 "non-conservative" shows that were cancelled = 31 combined total viewers (or whatever the number is) per episode. 10 million is much bigger number then 31, so much easier to sale profitable advertising to 10 million then 31.

So when ABC did the following, they weren't liberal..

Created and aired a pilot for 'Last Man Standing'
Approving a series for 'Last Man Standing' based on the pilot
Hiring and paying writers, directors, staff, crew and cast for 'Last Man Standing'
    Soliciting advertising for the series
Ran the series for 6 years

But when they decide to cancel the show, it's clearly because they are 'liberals'.

    Priceless

Blame it on the liberals because, you know, because.

I loved the show and they made as much fun of "conservative values" as they did liberals.

This show has been a breath of fresh air. ABC can spin it any way they want, but when a show has the ratings that this one does; you renew it for more years not cancel it. The other shows mentioned did not have the same level of ratings. This is a show that everyone can enjoy. Sad to see it go.

Of course it is political, and so will my not watching the last Modern family show (of the season) tonight.

Netflix would be foolish not to pick it up.

Dont overlook the liberal movie studio actions as being political.

Would be nice if another network took over the cancelled show. American Idle just changed networks after being cancelled.

    I liked this show.

    @ha

So was it some "liberal gestapo" that got the very liberal "the real O'Neal" and the other two none conservative show canceled? Not everything is a huge liberal conspiracy. The petition might be a better way to go. If they get enough people that express interest in the show they may bring it back were as consperecy theories in a local paper just draws laughs.

Nobody plays the role of censorship gestapo better then liberals, leftists and their hollywood hack media ninnies, do they?

They also canceled 'the real oneals that most of you would consider very liberal, did it the other two show canceled get canceled because of some big right wing consperecy? Sometimes shows (and actors) just run thin on story lines and get canceled, it happens to every show at some point.

No, Brave Sir Robin, it is the other end of the spectrum that falls within the category you refer to. The mighty arm of liberalism, with the power of the press and screen, is more adept at twisting facts and playing the victim of anything or anyone not in harmony with the ideals they espouse. It is liberalism that draws this nation closer and closer to the chaos our constitution was drawn up to avoid...which should put us precisely where you would apparently like to be.

It was the #2 sitcom on their network but it was too conservative for the keepers of Hollywoods self appointed political correctness division of the liberal executives progressive indoctrination agenda for the masses.

Last Man Standing really was the best comedy show on TV over the last decade. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't given it a try yet.

Tim Allen was an expert at making liberals look the fools they are! Which is why they're all on here rejoicing that their thin skins won't have to endure any more being poked fun of.

"The keepers of conservative values...are always victims when the detect a perceived slight."

When I saw the headline, I thought, "This is the very reaction that many conservatives criticize in minorities when they cry "racism" or "discrimination." "Maybe it's just because you weren't good enough!" some say.

    Yes. Maybe that's it.

Fascism. Tim Allen is too vocal in his conservative values. Totally disagree with Hutterite. The libs will stick to ideology over money 9 out of 10 times. And I guess is a demented kind of way should be commended for that.

You'd think that the media would value making a profit... but lately, having the right politics matters more.

Just look at ESPN, which fired almost exclusively white people and got rid of any trace of conservative commentators; and now is going to have MSNBC do SportsCenter.

Even the DeseretNews, which had a reputation of not being a leftist lacky and actual, independant voices, has lurched to the left at a huge rate. What's the difference between the DNews and the angry, bitter, Democrat house organ known as the Tribune?

Of course ABC would pull the trigger on a conservative show. Can't have the people exposed to something like morality, can we!

If the decision was political, then Fox should pick it up, right? After all, they have to replace the "no spin zone". Then again, after recent payouts, maybe they can't afford to pick up the show.

If it was making money and would likely continue to make money in the next season, I imagine they would have kept it.
The keepers of conservative values, the self appointed correct among us, are always victims when the detect a perceived slight.
