Mostly a very good article. But "undisputed best player"? Allow me to dispute.

    Rudy PER: 23.31, Hayward: 22.23. Estimated wins added: R-17.4, H-14.7. Win shares: R-14.3, H-10.4.

All NBA? Hayward no, Rudy oui.

None of this takes away from Hayward, but you can make a very strong argument that Rudy is better and more valuable.

How nice it is that we can dispute this!

I forgot to add that Gordon is buds with Joe and that doesn't hurt either.

Capsaicin- I believe the Jazz have that kind of player in Joe Ingles. He is up beat, takes no guff, always seems light hearted and motivated and can come up with some timely 3-pointers and defense. He has even on occasion stepped up his game when needed with some huge scoring games. He is the kind of player other players want on their team and that I want on the Jazz.

Play is largely dependent on motivation and perceived level of fun. If it's just work then it's just business as usual. The addition of good players has re-invigorated Hayward. Every team needs a motivator. Would Kanter have left if he had known Jazz would be acquiring better talent? I believe the loss of Dellavadova was a huge blow to the Cavs and a big reason why they didn't do as well, this season, as in past seasons. Warriors have draymond green. The spurs had Duncan. Who do the Jazz have? Gobert? Hill? They need someone out there throwing down the taunts, keeping the game light-hearted, keeping it fun and keeping them focused and hungry for more. The coach can't delegate this. It has to occur naturally. Management has to recognize this need and acquire a passionate, fun team motivator. I don't see that in this years spurs team, or the rockets, or the clippers. Having someone on the team that can keep a light mood, keep it fun, and keep the motivation to win high is essential. The kind of person that just by making the game fun improves everyone's play around them.
