1000 jobs will keep people in the area quiet. However there still needs to be
investigations into this and other misdeeds by UTA but with jobs at hand I guess
the people just cower. Kind of said what people will turn a blind eye to -- all
about the money with little integrity.
UTA is basically tone-deaf when it comes to transparency issues.The
ONLY way UTA will ever get "fixed" is if they are put under control of
UDOT (a natural fit), or if the whole mess is privatized.The only
problem with either of those scenarios is that well-heeled, and well-placed
current or former legislators WON'T be in a position to make a lot of money
on TRAX alignments, or placements.Which, sadly, means taxpayers will
need to continue to subsidize the shenanigans.
