Okay, Commissioner John Valentine of the Utah State Tax Commission, what is so secretly being held back?

Open it up and let's see what we are getting.

Secret Deals between business and government should be regarded as High Crimes against the people and punished accordingly. The crime is in the secrecy and not necessarily in the deed.

Business exists because it is required for civilization to provide the benefits and obligations of the society of humans to the society of humans. It does not exist for the enrichment of individuals and groups even though individuals and groups can be enriched by doing the job well.

Business operations that enhance the wealth of business without the corresponding benefit to society should be regarded as crimes and prohibited by the rules set by society. When such crimes are the results of secrecy between government and business they become High Crimes subject to severe punishment of the participants.

Something that those in Government seem to forget, on a regular basis, is that we (the people) are the government. We elect people to oversee the daily goings-on at all levels of government.

What reason could those at the State Tax Commission have to keep the agreement secret, other than they have something to hide.

Let everyone that wants to know what is going on see the agreement in its entirety, with nothing redacted.

The entire agreement should be made available immediately. The tax commission has entered into a secret agreement with a private business to collect taxes on the citizens of Utah. As a citizen, I have the right to see and understand exactly what the tax commission is giving Amazon to collect and remit these taxes.

Lets see the whole enchilada, TPTB are hiding this for their own benefit. That being said, I seldom agree with Libertas, this is one time I do.

Can you think of any reason that the entire pubic should not see the entire agreement -- without redacting any of the figures. Only if there is something to hide. Which makes sense, provided the public exists to server the government and not the other way around.
