I can't see how that game against UTA, getting swept convincingly by St Mary's, and some of the other bad losses this season will help our recruiting. If I were a recruit that had watched BYU's season I'd be thinking their coaches sure don't do a very good job so I'll pick another school. It's an absolute miracle that we were able to win at Gonzaga with this team and coaching staff. But like they say, even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut, even a broken clock is still right twice a day, etc. I just hope Yoeli Childs doesn't decide to transfer out. He's very good and is going to get even better.

Agree with Bomar and others. Without a strong defensive effort every game the team does not improve. Turnovers must've greatly reduced. And why the big hurry to get of a 3 point shot with 24 seconds left on the shot clock and no one underneath? Always go inside first. These are all correctable issues a coach can address, if he will.

This team has lost its way. The UTA game was an indicator that there has been no improvement since the opening game of the season with a few exceptions. The responsibility lies with Coach Rose and his staff. To listen to Coach Rose's post game comments is all we need to know that he has lost his enthusiasm and new ideas are needed. If Rose stays on he needs to clean house and replace his staff, they are stale and obviously have no clue on coaching basic defense and ball handling skills as evidenced by the seasons results.

soft soft soft in the middle. Have been all year.

I would not pay money to watch this team.

Rose has never believed in defense. Not with young teams, not with veteran teams. The worst thing that could have happened to TJ Haws was to vote him into the WCC first team, kind of rewarding a kid that shoots first, does not include the rest of the team, and zero defense....just like his brother.

It does seem that the team has improved. In fact, it seems clear that except for Bryant's good week when they peaked for a short time, they have regressed.

Some of the problem has been the absence of Kyle Davis. But the Cougars' were plainly awful against UT - Arllngton defensively and gave away the game with ridiculous turnovers.

Two UT - Arlington players had CAREER NIGHTS!!!!!!! Two of them!!!!!

I do not see this group getting better. I had hoped Quincy Lewis would have made a difference with the defensive sets -- but UT - Arlington was constantly at the rim making lay-ups and embarrassed BYU with the pick and roll or pick and pop.

BYU has not been good at guarding the three-point line in a long time and I am distressed at their "Matador Defense."

HELP . . . . . may come when the team decides it wants to play defense. Until then, I do not enjoy watching the Cougars play like they did the past two games.

Definitely not. Did you see how they played tonight? BYU will be lucky to make the NIT next year. They will not make any waves in the basketball world until they decide to show up and play defense every game.

Which will not happen as long as Dave Rose is the coach.

Prove me wrong, cougs. I would love to see it.

BYU is not a young team, Age wise its pretty mature team. Kinda sad that LP3 peaked in high school. Not to much to be optimistic for.
