The BLM needs to set aside a piece of the 900 acres and ask for volunteers to fence it so that it can bee a shooting area. People are just driving farther west polluting our air to shoot when they shouldn't need to. If this is a city want then the city should make an area for shooting. This mentality of the public lands managers that if there is a problem we will just close it rather than fix the problem isn't working.

The BLM is out trying to make friends again...

The truth... I remember shooting out there when I was a young man... I shot out there all the time in the BLM land in the late 80s and early 1990's.

Some of the areas out there were torn-up from shooting back then. I had a scoutmaster who always had us remove trash and debris every time we went because he said, "If folks keep leaving their shooting trash up here, it will eventually get shut-down."

The truth... They could very easily designate certain areas as free shooting ranges with posted rules. Good folks will regulate themselves, and have a good place to go to shoot...

I agree with Patriot... with shooting sports so extremely popular in Utah, what are folks telling their elected officials to do to expand the number of shooting areas and ranges...?

Serious question... What are elected officials doing to expand the number of shooting areas and ranges...?

the places you can shoot legally anymore are almost gone in Utah County. I would like to see a petition requesting land to be set aside for legal shooting ranges. The number of residents in Utah county who have guns and want to shoot is enormous yet the government continues to post no shooting signs on every former gun range site. Shooting skeet is a HUGE favorite among Utah residents yet there is no thought given by anyone to find places to shoot.
