There are a number of much larger but similar features of late in Northern Siberia - they are methane blow holes created by the warming tundra which melts ice allowing the methane to escape - bad news btw as methane is a super greenhouse gas.

Maybe this is a phenomenon that gave Circleville it's name.

Similar craters appeared in Russia recently. If you do a Google search on ...

You can see them and read about them.

Flying from Achorage Alaska to Shemia island, I saw many sets of collinear craters, some on land where the line of craters continued on into the ocean. I came to the conclusion these were probably made by an airplane dropping bombs. Probably for practice, and possibly during WW2.

From The Article: "Another possibility is that there was a burp of methane gas from decaying organic material under the pond. Lund strongly doubts that theory because the local geology isn't the type that sometimes causes such events."

A burp? Like, fer rude! Doesn't Mother Nature know it's rude to burp?

Check with Rep. Chaffetz. This is likely tied to Benghazi. However, Rep. Stewart may feel strongly that this is somehow related to militarization of the BLM. Either way, I'm sure they will blame Pres. Obama.
