Still not really that impressed. After Bishop Gorman plays Bingham, the nation will see that Utah High School football is not yet on par with the elite. But if all Bingham wants to do is win a State title, which is admirable, then it looks like they'll sail smoothly throughout the season. (But that's only after they play BG of course). Although, the Miners look to be in a league of their own out here in UT, I can't see any other team besides BG beating them this season.

It was the first game wolvie23. Let's give Bingham a chance. And question? Shouldn't BG beat Bingham? After all, they're not exactly on the same playing field. Have you seen their facilities? Are you aware they are a private school that gets great athletes from all over? So why shouldn't they beat Bingham? They have every advantage they could ask for. Utah football plays a great brand considering their population size. The best teams in Utah ARE on par with any state if that school is public and has similar enrollment.

Great way to start the season. Bingham can play with anyone and they will prove that against Bishop Gorman. Talk is a Cheap!

Go Miners!

Leave it to someone who just cant be happy with what the MINERS do, he has to worry about everything else, like there one Opponent who RECRUITS all over Las Vegas.

Bishop Gorman is a junior college basically when you get to play 5 top 25 nationally ranked teams, its commical.

I am not saying by any means that Bingham has a chance, becasue with 3 SOPHMORES starting on there offensive line it will take time, they will try to hold there own on defense but offense is where I am worried.

Your a salt lake resident, and just hate that Binghams been nationally ranked for quite some time now, when you lose 5 senior offensive linemen it will be a tuff start.

Stop hating and give respect for Bingham being able to be scheduled vs the #1 team in the nation this year at there place. Obviously Dave Peck aint affraid of no one buddy.
They went to Texas lost to the #1 team in the nation by 2 touchdowns, can you blame them for getting out there to play good teams!

Since when did Winning state titles become just admirable??? ha

Haters going to hate!

So, wolfie, how many teams in the US would beat BG? Maybe one? They get kids from all over So-Cal to play for them. They are more junior college than high school so it's hardly an indictment if Bingham loses to BG.

I have family playing for BG so it's not like I'm hating on Bingham for nothing. Actually it's hard to hate on a team who benches their starters to let the opposing team get on the board a few times, I gotta respect that.
But the game hasn't even started and there are already excuses justifying Bingham's loss.
BG has all the weapons to make it a long night for the miners. After they play each other, Utah teams will see that all you need to beat Bingham is a mobile and accurate QB on offense and quick linebackers on defense. BG has all those players on a D1 level.
Hopefully Herriman can test Bingham more than Davis did because BG will come out making noise.
A state title becomes admirable when national titles becomes the focal point. Some day Utah will put together a special high school football team equivalent to Lone Peaks basketball team a few years back. But not this team and not this season.
Can't wait for Sep 5. It'll be one of those times where fans will wish that what happens in Vegas actually stayed in Vegas.

Bishop Gorman has great programs in all sports and they like to flaunt it. But don't be surprised if Bingham gives them a game. When my son was a sophomore we played a highly ranked BG in baseball and beat them 10-3. And we also beat then in Basketball summer AAU league. They are a great school bet they are not as elite as some people think. I wouldn't be suprised by a Miner victory!

Hey Wolvie, It's not tough to "Have weapons" when they are a private school that recruits kids from So Cal and everywhere else in the West. All we are saying is for a public school, Bingham can and does compete against anybody else out there. No excuses, and Coach Peck won't make any excuse should they lose to BG. And sorry, but Bingham isn't shooting for a National Championship. They are shooting for a State Championship. Compare apples to apples dude. All teams will will need to see after that game is, all you need to beat Bingham is to recruit the best teams in the west to come play for you is what you really meant to say. The fact Peck is willing to go play that type of team, and give his kids that type of exposure says a whole log more about his character than somebody bragging BG up like you do.

Now as for how Bingham looked in this game. That defense is CRAZY good! Lights out! Spoke with one of the coaches yesterday, and they really think this could be one of the best defenses they've had there in Peck's tenure. That's saying a lot since they've had some great defenses. Their secondary is very good and experienced. I loved how they moved the Smith kid around on offense. He can beat you as a RB, or lined up in the slot or out on the end as a WR. This could be a special team if the O line improves throughout the year.

Bigham has had well rounded program for many years. No question about that , I think Herriman if they can get the quarter back in line and connect with his recievers it will be a good game. Herriman has alot of weapons in the running game I think it will be a game to watch .

Wow bingham people talk about recruiting. Look at your own team. Not every one is from the bingham boundries. I know people that live down there. Lets see how good you coukld be with players in your own school boundries. Or for some luck they just happen to transfer in

@Davis

You must be jealous.... Isn't Bingham open enrollment? Do you have facts to back up that claim? Saying "I know people"... It's funny you say recruiting because not one time has Coach Peck been in trouble, or questioned. It simply is that Bingham works hard for what they earn.

Davis
Kaysville, UT

not even jealous of him. But i have more respect for schools that only have players from there own bounderies. Open enrollment is another word for recruitment. So i guess if he had to play within his boundries he would not be has good, Try working hard with players in your own school boundries then will see how good he is

@Davis

Its unfortunate that you don't live in the South Jordan community so that you can understand and see for yourself that the majority of the players on the Bingham team are from Bingham boundaries. Spouting off things like "I know people that live down there" is not a valid representation of fact. I know people from Kaysville, but that doesn't mean that I know anything about who plays for the local High School. Misinformation, and theories arise from those who don't investigate or know for certain from their own experiences.

If you know of a school that works as hard as Bingham does, and prepares the way that Bingham does let me know. Until then don't assume that they are just good because they apparently "recruit"...

Your arguments, and your "facts" hold no ground.

Gunner
South Jordan, UT

Hey Davis, you realize Davis is open enrollment also right? Meaning they have kids from out of the area playing also! Don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house!
