How about that all world punter. 30 yard average?
Little rough around the edges for a first game, but the Eagles in blue just outworked a good LCA squad.

It's only 47

Duchesne deserved to win, LCA just hurt themselves too many times with simple mistakes, mistakes they just kept repeating. Not sure why they persisted with some of the calls that clearly weren't working for them. The new QB for Duchesne had a great 1st game too.

Think the comment aimed at the LCA punter is a bit harsh though, the commentators talked him up for a reason. You don't have a season net average of 46.8 yards if you're crap. A couple of off punts in game 1 won't worry LCA fans, mind you his 3rd punt was 47yards and got LCA outta trouble. Think he also topped the tackle count for LCA.

Good luck to both teams next week, was a good start to the season and a good KJZZ production.

Hegotgame, you are right. The kid was booming them in warmups, and he did a solid job on D. It's just funny that for two years now, we haven't seen him kick anything near his average against us. But anyone can have a bad game or two.

If your'e going to run shotgun you better get the snap issues worked out, just a thought sheesh!

Like you said, anyone can have a bad game. From memory though he had 3 punts on Thursday, 1st was a 30 yard directional punt into the corner that flipped the field, 2nd was a bad one off the side of his boot and the 3rd put the ball back in the Duchesne half from his own 4yard line, so not too bad overall. I wonder if he was fatigued from playing WR and DB/Safety?

Saw a good article on twitter a few weeks back Rural sport fan and thought it was a good read, I can't seem to post the link here though. Of you google 'keeping an eye on Bailey Kenter' one of the 1st few results will be a recent article done by The Big Leagues Daily site. It shows he won't be stressed about a couple of shanks in game 1.

I thought that Duchesne executed all the simple things very well, says a lot about the quality of their coaching as well. They ran simple yet effective plays and used the skills of the guys they had very well.It was a great job by them and a deserved win.

Proud of my Duchesne Eagles. The streak continues. Against a team that can recruit from anywhere, that is a statement game.. I think we are 9 out of 10 against them. Go Duchesne.

LCA recruits students not athletes. Their results speak for themselves.

That's a fair point 2afan, correct me if I am wrong but they usually only have about 35 players and many are new to the game of football so last years 5-5 was pretty good

Correct . LCA is very respected across the state by those who are informed about how they go about their business .

Just saw this on twitter, posted by High School Football America in relation to LCA's punter.

"6 punts for 259 yards with a 43.1 yard per punt avg. Has had 5 punts of 46 yards or more from those 6 punts with 2 landing inside the 20. This places him as the #3 MaxPreps punter in the nation and the best in Utah.

Safety - 16 tackles in 2 games with a forced fumble. Would be MaxPreps #7 in the nation"

I am pretty sure those stats at safety would rank him with the most tackles at safety in Utah looking at MaxPreps stats. Imagine if he had not have shanked that punt against Duchesne, his avg would be even higher. He may not have boomed any 60+ ones just yet like he did last year but punting is about solid 40+ consistency. So yeah, he looks pretty solid so far.
