Pretty sure Timpview, East and Logan have brought down their fair share of Salt
Lake Valley 5A programs. Since 2000, there have been a few years where the 4A
champ would likely be favored over the 5A champ--were they to play.Given the size difference of 5A schools over East, Timpview and Logan...it is
impressive they sometimes compete with, and beat winning 5A programs.
That Timpview streak was before they played 5A teams in Salt Lake County.
To jws34: Congratulations to Pahranagat Valley, but the Panthers play 8-man
football, and so their streak, which is most impressive, isn't included in
or comparative to 11-man football stats and records. The National Federation of
High Schools maintains separate records for 6-, 8-, 9- and 11-man football.
While similar, their rules are different enough to make them all distinct
sports. Combining them would be akin to combining softball and baseball stats.
Thanks for reading!
jws34, that Nevada team is an 8 man team, so you are correct, but I'm not
sure it counts in 11 man stats? It is impressive, regardless.Timpview, the operative word is "current" streak. That's
Excuse me, Tom Smart. Timpview has he second longest winning streak
@ 36 wins. 2006-2008
The longest winning streak in the country belongs to Pahranagat Valley High
School in Nevada at 69 games.
As a Dixie alum, I wish Dixie was the one with the 6 game win streaking, because
they would have won state. That should be Desert Hills with 6, not Dixie.
