Big 12 Call Yet?

It will be hard to know if byu's d-line is better or worse, even after this season. They only play 3 games against big boy conference teams and 2 of those teams are the worst teams in their conference, with Virginia and Cal.

Virginia didn't beat a single Division I team last year other than byu.

BYU's schedule is ranked by most experts in the 90-100 range. Its hard to evaluate a team when the play a horrible schedule with terrible teams most weeks.

Any top 25 team wouldn't lose more than 1 game with this schedule.

My guess is byu loses 3-4 and still brags about how good they are - they'll be convinced they are better than any team with more losses than them. So predictable.

The o-line should handle themselves fine against the weak schedule...
I don't see an issue.

The answer to the headline is no.

Too bad byU can't play against more PAC12 teams, it'll give them some more experience on the line. PAC12 produces the best D lineman in the country hands down

Another state championship.

This is interesting. I just read the comments on the story about U of U quarterbacks. There was not ONE negative comment from BYU fans. On this page, all I read is negative comments from Utah fans. Interesting.

We are in a big boy conference and so predictable.

"BYU's schedule is ranked by most experts in the 90-100 range."

The only ranking that has BYU's SOS in the 90-100 range is the NCAA method. If by "most experts" you mean one single method, then I guess you are correct.

"Any top 25 team wouldn't lose more than 1 game with this schedule."

So if BYU goes 10-2 and ends in the top 25 that will prove you wrong.

"My guess is byu loses 3-4 and still brags about how good they are - they'll be convinced they are better than any team with more losses than them. So predictable."

Well in 2010 the experts claimed that BYU was better than Utah. In 2011 experts claimed BYU was better than Utah. In 2012 experts claimed BYU was better than Utah. In 2013 experts claimed Utah was neck and neck with BYU at best. Don't take BYU fans' word for it.

There's nothing "negative" about pointing out the fact that byu won't be able to definitively gauge how good/bad their d-line is during this upcoming season due to their schedule being overall so utterly weak/non-challenging. This is merely an irrefutable fact, nothing more.

BYU scheduled well this year. It was smart. It is a winnable schedule and you will be challenged by Texas, Central Florida, Boise, Virginia, Houston, and Utah State. If you can win out on that schedule, you will have had a GREAT season and be well positioned heading into a tougher schedule next year. I like how BYU is able to schedule teams from all over the country. I tests you against many different styles of play in many different conferences. Just like boxing, college football is a match-up of styles. Good Luck Cougs. I like your chances.

If only we could have scheduled the 3rd worst team in the PAC12 also, that would have really strengthened the schedule. But as we know from multiple accounts any P5 conference team is elite regardless of anything relevant. So Cal, Texas and Virginia are fellow elite teams just by association. Just trying to use u of u logic. As this is a great "research institution."

plus, all biased "facts" are refutable.

It's too bad Utah can't "play" against more Pac-12 teams too...in spite of their schedule being full of them!!

Utah has consistently had a good team perhaps better than BYU, good recruiting, good coaching. I fail to understand why they are so interested in BYU. If I watch Utah it is only for a few minutes. Each team has their problems and successes.
