Loved Robin Williams, but disliked Mork and Mindy. Unlike your experience, most of my friends didn't like it, but then we were a little older.

I found that Robin's work was uneven, but when he was good, he was very, very good. Good enough that there is not a single person I can think of who compares to him, he stood alone in his unique talent.

Loved him as Mork. Enjoyed him as a guest on Johnny Carson. My favorite role's of his were on Aladdin and 'Good Morning Vietnam'. Robin was an American icon and treasure, and just like the author of this article, I too generally dismiss the passing of famous persons and don't follow the media coverage that follows, but Robin's death brought tears to my eyes because even though I never knew or met him, he seemed like the big, goofy brother that I always wanted in my life.

I was older and watched Mork and Mindy with my wife and kids. We loved every episode; uneven or not. I've been amazed by Robin Williams ever since. There will never be another quite like him. I feel like I've lost a dear friend.

Danville, IN

Just after Robin Williams' passing I saw an episode of Happy Days featuring him as Mork from Ork, but this time I couldn't laugh at all. His death--and the fact that he took his own life--has seemed to put a damper on things.
