The good P-5 schools build a recruiting wall around their state and sign all the best recruits in their state, especially the 5-star recruits.

@Mr. 5-star: It should be so simple.

Come on, get real. Multiple factors come into play RE recruit site selection: Academics, family, coaching, friends/prior teammates on the target team, conference affiliation, perception of access to the NFL, access to Playing Time/team depth, etc.

And in the case of TDS, religiousity.

And we all know that no one recruit has the ability to turn a team into a national champion.

In the long run each team markets its footprint, focus, and agenda so that it can consistently attract the type of player that will meet its needs.

And on the other side, the player commits to the team that best fits his/her needs; a team cannot reasonably flip on a daily basis in order to pander to any individual player.

At the U the stated policy is no one has a guaranteed spot, the needs of the team come first, players must agree to move to a spot that helps the team the most, and every position is open for ongoing competition.

And BTW, that's a principal reason (among many) why Coach Whitt will be The Man On The Hill for many many years to come.

@65TossPowerTrap: "The good P-5 schools build a recruiting wall around their state and sign all the best recruits in their state, especially the 5-star recruits.".....Your statement is full of holes......Take the States of California, Texas and Florida that all have many P-5 Teams.....Many of the best recruits and even 5 star recruits don't stay in those states either....Many athletes just want to go to other areas of the country, and where these athletes go is not a reflection on "bad recruiting" as you have implied.

Great to hear Masina is turning it up. I would love to see both Masina brothers play next to each other just like the Kruger brothers!
