"console yourself with the SOS award"Sure is funny how the y
faithful have forgotten how they were trumpeting their football and b-ball
teams' SOS last season. Now, it just seems Ducky is relieved he
doesn't have to plan a September trip to Tulsa.
@sparkley briefsI really don't think you need to worry about
it, utah won't be making it to a bowl game. console yourself with the SOS
award, SOS having two meanings both of which apply.
Sam, if the Utes make it to a bowl, at least they will have earned it the hard
way instead of scheduled it in advance.
@ sammygPlaying one gimme game is not padding the schedule. That
claim is especially hilarious coming from a BYU fan. That being said, your
jealousy is delicious.Go Utes!
Padding the schedule with ISU in hopes of barely slipping into a bowl game. This will be the one 'signature' win this year on the way to a
hopeful 7th place finish."Utah's schedule is brutal this
year..."And making excuses for being bowl-less forty some odd
days before the season gets started. And slap a new 2014 PAC12
sticker on to the travelling SOS participation trophy. Utes win!
JSwaggDaddy,I don't think any of us Ute fans were super
offended or getting defensive, as you pointed out. We were just rationally and
logically explaining to Gone Fishing why his comment was so ridiculous. byu has
a schedule with 8 or 9 built in wins. Utah has a schedule with 1 built in win.
I think you are the one that needs to take a deep breath and calm
down. You are the one getting upset because we put byu in its place.
I'm glad Utah is playing Idaho State, that may be the win they need to
become bowl eligible for the first time in years. Whatever it takes.
Wow. I thought BYU fans were the ones who got super offended and defensive when
utah fans said something negative about us.Gone fishin makes a
pretty mild (and hopefully sarcastic with the isu win) comment to utah fans, and
they act like they have had some kind of awful personal attack. It's ok, ute fans. Take a deep breath and calm down. Maybe you guys
won't right now, but you will have time to relax in December when your
season has ended and the real football teams are still playing.
"Is this the same weakling that Ute fans criticized BYU for playing?"Gone:Yes. I guess the Utah brass has seen how much fun BYU
has had winning the Idaho state college championship the last 4 years.Take that.
My, my. The ute fans can sure dish it out but can't take it.
@ SteveIdaho State is not Division II. If you don't even
understand the basic structure of college football, why are you commenting?
These two could play.
Gone Fishin,You're right, Idaho State has certainly been very
bad of late and will likely be very bad again. However, that's our ONE bad
opponent. BYU on the other hand will only play ONE GOOD opponent.Bottom line, strength of schedule is not something I'd be bringing up if
I was a BYU fan, and that's exactly what you're doing by bagging on
Utah's one bad opponent.
"Is this the same weakling that Ute fans criticized BYU for playing?"Gone Fishing, The difference is that byu plays 7 or 8 teams
that are about the same quality as Idaho State. Utah plays 1.
Weak opener, but no gimmies after that.Gone FishinWould
you like to compare weak opponents on Utah vs. BYU schedules? Utah's
schedule is brutal this year; but look for the negative; as usual.
The best thing about this game is that Utah finally has a decent chance at
beating a division II team from Idaho. Utes have lost to both Boise State and
Idaho when they were just division II programs.
Is this the same weakling that Ute fans criticized BYU for playing?I
predict a isu win to start the season.
I remember both of these coaches when they wore a Utah uniform. Best of luck to
them and the Bengals. A fun read. Thanks, Dirk.
