I was a volunteer in PC in the merchandise tent. Candidly, I will never do it again. I have never been treated with such indifference at any running event in my life, ESPECIALLY AS A VOLUNTEER. Further, I was threatened both by email prior to the event as well as by RAGNAR staff in person at the event that if I left early, my team would be disqualified. Too bad I wasn't there representing any team. I wanted to see what RAGNAR was all about, and I sure did.

I...as well as the other volunteers in my shift couldn't wait to leave our shifts. Any time we asked for assistance we were treated like we were...well pains in the gluteus maximus. And food, water, or even a single "thanks for your help..." forget about it.

So I can see why the trash duty volunteers may not have put forth 110% effort in their duties. The Ragnar organizers through their words and actions stripped away any motivation we originally had to pitch in and made it all about the money. So running the race? Prolly not. And volunteering? NO WAY.
