Yes, my kids can spell LOL and BFF and IMHO with impeccable flawlessness. Texting has been a big help in the spread of profound and meaningful examples of what it means to be literate.

Students find a new addiction with playing games, and texting, which takes attention away from learning in the classroom.

It's like saying calculators help students learn the multiplication table.

Never trust the term "studies", or "research shows".
