Hmmm, Interesting article. However some critical thinking is involved to understand what it being said.

1.) It is more normal for Women to be single.

I wonder who the New York Magazine surveyed? Were the female reposndents all NYC urbanits?

2.) Men are more reluctant to get married.

Gee, It sounds like the Older LDS Singles scene in Salt Lake. As there seems to be more single LDS ladies than Single LDS guys in the Single scene the Guys are reluctant to commit to a serious relationship. Because something better might come along. That is from my female sources up in SLC.

Marriage, and pretty much all life experiences, are as unique as those that experience them.

How do you figure? To me that just looks like more women than men join the church (or more men than women leave the church). Oh I see what you mean, the imbalance leads to the ability for the more exclusive group (men) to pick and choose more.

We live in a time of great uncertainty and discord caused by so-called notions of political correctness. This is especially true when it comes to the left-wing media's attack on traditional marriage.

The irrefutable fact is that the modern entertainment industry has done everything it can to abolish traditional marriage. This involves a coordinated effort to convince young people that they will be worse off if they get married.

The end result is that Western Civilization has reached its nadir. Crime, substance abuse, and immorality are all at epidemic levels. Those responsible must be swiftly and severely condemned.

At 39, with zero marriage prospects here in SLC, I am still a long way from "normal"

So? Now, all we need now is some Pompeii like event to push Western Civilization over the hump?

to Llew40

"Normal" is someone else's definition of what socially acceptable.
