I am sure that Jack the Ripper and Jeffrey Dahmer and Charles Manson all had friends who thought they were nice people too.

However, seemingly "nice" people can do horrible and criminal things.

A violent gang member who attacks a witness in a court room (or anywhere else, for that matter) deserves whatever force, even deadly force, is need to stop his attack. The Marshall did his job correctly, and provided the "justice" the demonstrators desire, even if they fail to see their friend as the evil aggressor, not a victim.

Racial profiling? Yes, RICO was originally aimed at Italians. Now they have branched out to drug cartels and gangs. Geez, looks like they look at criminals and criminal enterprises, not racial types. The best thing for the Tongan community, which is quite close knit and family oriented is to strongly condemn gang activity within their community and take steps to eradicate it. The Tongan Crip Gangsters are the most violent of the gangs in Utah. They need to cooperate with the police to stamp out this gang activity. From the article it appears that they were excusing his gang activity because he had a big heart. Not a good attitude.
