Yes George.... Europe is all up in arms about the anti-EU vote, and yet two former soviet block countries will sign papers this month to join the Union, and Scotland has already said that if it breaks away from England, it too will maintain and expand its relationship with the EU - to the point of putting up boarder control between itself and its former country mates. This in addition to what is going on in Ukraine... people are dying - literally - to gain the right to join the EU.

There is always opposition in all things. The pendulum of support for any issue swings both ways... the EU just isn't that different from anywhere else, including the US. There are things the EU does that bothers its member states, but the overall impact has been and is positive.
