All part of the big game. They're producing more oil than ever, demand is down, yet prices always rise. Sure they lower it every now and then, but, overall the gas prices have escalated. I still remember paying .80 cents a gallon. My how times have changed.

@ Liberal Ted, I remember paying 17.9 cents per gallon at the gasamat on Highland Dr. I also remember getting gifts from gas stations for buying at their pumps.

But I agree with you. We are producing more oil on the North American continent than we ever have before (so much for the peak of oil). We have what we need and then some. An article not long ago said that North Dakota crude was going at $75/barrel. That would put the price of gas at the pump somewhere between $2.25 and $2.50 per gallon. But the regulators let the speculators determine where the price on crude oil is and totally ignore the ramifications of turning a blind eye to this manipulation. You have to wonder, if gas was more affordable, would people use more gas? And if they used more gas, would the gas tax keep the DOT funding solvent? We are getting hurt by our federal government and our hedge fund billionaires.
