@Semi-Strong Sorry Semi, but if you truly study history you have to see
that Skeptic has the evidence on his side. As far as the spirit, that
confirmation was not unique to members. It always feels great when people
finally do the right thing even when it takes them allot longer than most to do
Skeptic,Beyond the history that contradicts your statement, there is
the powerful spiritual confirmation that I and many of the members I know felt
The truth be told, it was not a revelation from god; it was a wise corporate
management decision expedited by civil rights advances and temple work in Brazil
for black members.
Our stake hosted him for a talk on blacks in the scriptures. Really interesting
and a great speaker. Nice to see this.
I looked for this story earlier as the printed version in today's DesNews
had the revelation as being received by Pres. Hinckley. I can't imagine
how the author and the editor missed that but what a glaring error!! Thanks for
fixing it in the on-line version. With such a water-shed event in Church
history, you'd think checking the facts a bit closer would be in order. i
still remember the day in 1978 when it was announced.Darius Gray
deserved the accolades, too.
