Alex needs to be real here. Alex isn't going to get a top QB deal. He
should be content to sign something much smaller. If Alex thinks he is going to
get 126 mil he is nuts. Maybe 27 million over 3 years is more like it.
@ed gradySmith took a pathetic 2-14 team and led them to 11-5 and
the playoffs. I'm not sure what you mean by "Smith is not a playoff
Ha ha! Love the Alex Smith/Utah haters who are just seething over his
success.Get your money Alex, you deserve it!
In Smith's playoff game against the Colts he was 30/46 378 yds and 4 TDs
with 0 interceptions. What more can you want from him Grady? To play defense
too? Teams would kill for those numbers in the post season. Then, to top it all
off in his playoff games Smith has thrown 0 interceptions in his 100+ postseason
passes. Contrast that with Kap who in his last 80 attempts has thrown 3 picks, 3
TDs for only 576 yards. Further, Smith's two longest passes in the post
season are 79 and 73 yarders whereas Kaps areboth 45 yards. No, Smith is a good
QB and can get things done in the postseason. Try again ed?
"...Smith's numbers were great, but Kaepernick proved himself to be a
winner...".CK is the only starting QB in the history of the
franchise to lose a Super Bowl.CK lost the NFC Championship Game
last year.Super Bowl loser...NFC Championship loser...The trend is your friend...In CK's case...His
trend line in Championship games is headed in the wrong direction."...the playoffs are where the big money is earned...".Which is exactly why Romo got the big money in Dallas?Which is
exactly why Cutler got the big money in Chicago?Which is exactly why
Stafford got the big money in Detroit?Exactly.
let's see. Kapernick didn't win the superbowl. They may have got
there, but he lost it....did'nt get back last year. Smith turned a 2 win
team around to go to the playoffs in one season. Alex is every bit as good as
Kap or better. Better leader, not a punk, doesn't have the law after him. I
don't get what these teams expect. Only one team can win the SB. Not even
Payton Manning could do it last year....and Smith and the Chiefs gave Denver a
run for their money in the Division.
Sorry, but the playoffs are where the big money is earned, and Smith is not a
Yes, Smith is a good QB, but the Chiefs have made a massive commitment to win
NOW and 10 wins and a second round playoff exit are NOT going to cut it.
It's Superbowl or bust, at this point. We saw this play out in SF --
Smith's numbers were great, but Kaepernick proved himself to be a winner.
Did he not prove himself the last 2 years? He had the highest QB rating in
2012.He made the pro-bowl in 2013.He lead the Chiefs to win 9
more games in 2013 than they did in 2012.He can get better, but he
already is a great QB.
I really like Smith - he's a pretty good QB. He is not a top-tier QB
however. He has the opportunity to prove himself this season.
Adda boy Smith!! Keep up the good work!!
