Another political lie, the passengers were smuggling themselves in this country and paying the driver to drop them off at a destination. Smuggling implies the passengers were his prisoners under duress and being transported against their will. The fact is it was the passengers who are guilty of smuggling, not the driver. This is a phony charge that is letting the passengers off as illegl aliens to testify against the driver, the prosecutor should be castrated and the judge should through this charge out.

This van of 9 people are more guilty of smuggling than the driver who they hired and paid to transport them. Passengers new the risk and he is not responsible for their illegal occupation and invasion of our borders. Politically it frees the 9 passengers to stay in this country as undocumented and illegal aliens. This phony smuggling charge is absolutely very republican and Democrat policy that considers illegal aliens as federal funds for state budget.

American has not become more brown, we have been invaded and told we cannot object or do anything about it until we decide its time to stop the invasion with prejudice and deadly force.

"Human smuggling?"

No. He was keeping families together, showing compassion, loving his neighbors.

He should be applauded by the Chamber of Commerce, the LDS Church, the Catholic Church, the Democratic Party and anyone else who favors open borders and amnesty for all the good work he is doing.

Four people died? Have this good man go back and get four more. The objective for the parties listed above is the same. It's all about money and power.

And to those of you who lost your job to someone willing to work for substantially less, this is a good reminder to be careful who you support (financially and vocally). Chances are the entities/parties you support really don't care about you.

The question begs to have an answer: will the "smuggled victims" be deported to their country of residence? I advise against holding one's breath on that one.

I tend to agree with the previous posts, this is a case of transporting illegal aliens across the country by private vehicle to circumvent the semi-laughable passenger ID processes found in long-range public transportation.

I postulate that all parties involved have or will require a certified translator of English to their native language.

We have a problem here, American citizens are out of work, and foreign born nationals are imported with impunity to undercut citizens who are looking for and need work to support their families. Our leaders know this and ignore it.

Had we had secure borders, with appropriate guest worker processes, the labor supply would be reduced, wages would be hire as employers competed for labor and we'd still have enough "stuff" to clog our garages and storage sheds.

Another tragedy will be the status of the unclaimed remains of the dead, as the next of kin most likely do not have the funds to transport and inter the bodies.
