I saw the show. It was marvelous. I only wish all parts of every show could be based on knowledge alone -- no rolling of balls, or doodling, or anything like that -- just answer questions.

I was reared in a sectarian denomination wherein children were made very familiar with the Bible early on. By the time we were six, we could recite from memory Psalm 23 and John 3:16, and by the time we were twelve or so, we knew other scriptures (such as Matthew 28:19-20) and we could name all sixty-six books of the Bible in order.

I became a Latter-day Saint four weeks before my twentieth birthday.

One day several years ago, I had a life-long Saint ask me "Where in the Bible does it say 'For God so loved the world?'" I immediately replied "John 3:16," and recited the entire verse. I was surprised she did not know the passage, but I did not express my surprise.

I think that some Saints are more familiar with the Book of Mormon than they are with the Bible.

I am So proud of these women!

Thank you for this fine example. I guess you won? I want to watch the show! Bless you, bless you1

my wife are here in the philippines. we are on a small island, 3 hours by ferry and about 3 hours south of manila. a district of 5 branches. the children/ young adults/ etc all receive the same lessons that are given back in the states. sometimes in tagalog, sometimes in english depending on the age group.

anyone who doesn't know the bible stories or the bom stories is either new to the church, playing in the halls or asleep.

You do know that a good chunk of Isaiah and the New Testament can be found in the Book of Mormon. :)

I study about the bible but my lack of knowledge doesn't bother me. I can still interact with other Christians. They can teach me more about the bible and I can teach them more about the Book of Mormon.

It is a win-win situation.

Note: SunnyRainy first said 4 decades, then 10 years; first said no Bible then said cursory lip service for Jesus.

Not having as much teaching experience as others. when I taught Primary (less than 10 years ago) it went: D&C, BoM, OT, NT. As someone else said, that is two years of Bible study. Besides, I think the show demonstrates something contrary to what SunnyRainy is trying to imply.

The show aired last Thursday and I think repeats tonight. I won't spoil it, but they fought hard.

This group of women represent a great organization: One Heart Bulgaria. I was in Bulgaria last summer and saw what they are doing blessing so many lives. Also, they represented the LDS church admirably. For laymen, they really know their Bible well.
