Affordable Health Care working well.

I'm not impressed with the job recovery in this country. It is because not every job created in this country is equal to the ones we lost. We have more low paying jobs now, especially here in Utah. Moreover, people that give up are no longer counted in the unemployment numbers. I've been trying to find a decent paying job for some time now. While I look for something decent, I now run a consulting firm and I've had two clients this year so far. Something is better than nothing, but anything less than a living wage with the family I need to support is basically nothing.

Wow!

Can I blame Obama for this? But if I blame him won't that actually give him credit?

Now what?

Darn that Obama! Darn that Obamacare! Bring back Bush so he can crush our economy again.

@patrick... so are you one of these people who aren't counted anymore? Just curious. I struggle to understand where these people disappear to. Is consulting or independently employed not part of the number - even if you are still looking for other full time work? Not sure how that number is baked in here.

People don't just disappear. They don't stop needing money. Most can't just choose to not need money anymore... so who are these people? Just kind of curious who makes up this group of people choosing not to look for work anymore.

One thing I can say in over the last 12 months the job posting at my firm went from 5 pages to now 15 online pages of openings. So it may just depend on the industry on what your view on the world is... who knows.

@Patrick Henry

So many people to blame...so little time.

IMVHO, based upon observation as well as research...where we are heading will make the 2006-2008 meltdown look like a walk in the park.

Good luck with your consulting start-up.

Utah Blue Devil,

The people who aren't counted any more could be living with family members, living on one income when they used to have two, working part time when they want full time, etc. any number of situations. I'm sure that some of them are probably living on contributions from government, church or family.

Really? Please explain the correlation between Obamacare, and Utah's unemployment rate? Also, provide specifics on what Obamacare has done for the national economy? If Obamacare is "working well" as you say, why are Democrats disowning their involvement in it's passage into law? If Obamacare was truly helping the economy, wouldn't Democrats coming up for reelection make Obamacare, and their involvement in it's passage, the focal point for their reelection campaign? Guess what, they're not!

Nice to see the Left grasping at straws trying to lift Obama up, but lets's deal with facts shall we?

Under Obama:

* Real unemployment is over 14% (And no, it's not 8-9% like the Obama likes to tell us)

* 92 million Americans are out of the workforce; the highest rate in 35 years

* Over 47 million Americans are on food stamps; which is almost double what it was in January 2009.

* College Grads cannot find jobs; more and more are living with mom and dad

* The CBO Report from 2/4/2014 projected that Obamacare will reduce the number of hours Americans work by the equivalent of 2.5 million full-time jobs.

Yep, Obamacare sure is "working well"!

Obama will go down as one of our greatest presidents. Bin Laden, health care, saving the economy, no scandals, working bailouts, and I hope he gets immigration before Hilary takes over.

good to see our local leaders can manage the state so well despite the economic drag from the BO misadministration and Obamacare.

If you want to see what your future health care will be like under Obamacare (aka: single payer), just take a look at the VA scandal; this is single payer in a nutshell. Death panels and rationed care are coming your way. Sadly, folks like you will not believe this until it's you (or a loved one) who are diagnosed with a terminal illness, and refused care because of the cost.

The Government cannot even run single-payer health care for a relatively small number of people in the Veterans Administration Hospitals, yet some of you folks want them running the entire nation's health care system. Single Payer health care will be the death knell for this nation.
