Thanksgiving dinner, 1985, Turkey Creek, LA, Wilkinson's home. DL, his junior comp, my trainer and I ate by far the singular greatest Thanksgiving meal to be prepared. There have been some good Thanksging meals in the following 29 years but that one will never be topped. It was a rapturous culinary feast of Creole and Cajun inspired delight that put all four of us into a food coma for days to follow. That, my friends, was what good eating and glutony was all about.

From my mission days: an enchilada dinner prepared and shared with two hungry missionaries by Sister Applegate in 1963 at Reserve, New Mexico. I've never found a better enchilada since and I've been trying to find one since that meal.
