We've not been fortunate enough to visit Israel ourselves, but two of our children have had the opportunity to do a BYU Travel Abroad semester at the Jerusalem Center. Our experience has been more in America--not only the Church History sites and temples, but also many visits to places significant to American History.
Whether you go by Auto or Motorbike, I encourage readers to take an "American Ride"--and while you're at it, don't overlook the Native American sites that are available; especially the ancient ones in the Southwestern United States.
I truly believe that this land is a "fertile ground" that allows for religious freedom for all, and specifically designed as a suitable place for the practice of the Lord's Gospel anciently--as well as for the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our day as taught by the LDS Church.
