'Clear threat': Reports of military sexual assault leap 50 percent

    This is distressing and disappointing, but for people who may be dissuaded from military service because of this, there are two points to consider.

    First point: The average of sexual assault cases within the military overall is still about the same as the civilian world. In the Air Force in particular, it is lower.

    Second point: These are sexual assaults reported. These aren't necessarily ones initiated -by- military members-simply ones involving them.
