The loss of that little girl was a tragedy, but kids are kids. They don't
always watch for traffic. Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen, even when
everyone is doing the best that they can.My niece was killed many
years ago when she slipped on a snow bank and fell under the bus. The bus
driver didn't see her fall. People who ignore school zone speed
limits, who ignore school bus signals, or who don't watch for children
exiting a bus should have their licenses revoked. A ticket is not sufficient.
They should lose their driving privileges until they've completed a course.
Perhaps having a police officer in an unmarked vehicle follow a bus would be a
practical way to quickly "educate" offending drivers.
