NeilT, the Ogden Temple is not actually an "entirely new" structure. The core of the building, main floor, and basement were all kept and the new structures added.

If you go to the Ogden Temple page on the website ldschurchtemples dot com, you can see an image archive of much of the exterior demolition and reconstruction.

I grew up in this wonderful Ogden area...loved attending the Ogden Temple before the change. It's a magnificent structure - the House of the Lord and I can't wait to go through it again. Most of my family is still living in that area and I know will be anxious to attend also. What a glorious day it will be when the doors are once again opened to the faithful Latter-day Saints.

The Ogden Temple is an entirely new structure. I would not call it a re-dedication. Just a thought.

It looks as if the entire building was re-built.

I remember seeing pictures of it before, and it looked very much like the Provo Temple.

Have enjoyed attending other Temples, but really longing for Ogden open again. We will appreciate it more for the wait. Also looking forward to the Tabernacle and Museum to open. Wonderful announcement.

Thanks to all those who have worked so hard. We are so blessed to have a House of The Lord so close.

Great News! Can't wait until it is re-opened. It has been too long without a temple in O-Town.
